Success Unlimited Network Coach Training and Certification Program An ICF-accredited coach training program (ACTP)
SUN Mission Statement SUN is an international community of personal and professional Coaches who coach and train coaches to inspire people to learn how to consistently produce the results they want in all areas of their life while maintaining and enhancing their well-being. As a result of our service, more people are clear about where they are and where they want to go, and more consistently take steps towards the results they choose with increased fulfillment and satisfaction. SUN Coaching Philosophy What is a coach? A coach guides clients over time (4+ months) using an inquiry process that focuses on personal discovery and responsibility, to consistently obtain desired results in all life areas with a sense of well-being, fulfillment and satisfaction. 1. Coaches are formally trained and share common philosophies and values: integrity, service, fun, spirituality, personal growth and discovery. 2. Coaching helps individuals and organizations to develop more rapidly and produce more consistently satisfying results and well-being. 3. Clients choose the results to be coached and coaching is tailored to the individual needs of the client. 4. Coaching is interactive. The Coach and Client are partners in the process. 5. Coaches, for the most part, elicit solutions and strategies from the client by using the inquiry process and asking questions. If consulting is appropriate, the Coach identifies it as consulting. 6. Coaches help clients tap into their own answers and build upon their natural strengths and abilities. 7. Coaches believe that the client is resourceful, creative and able to obtain the desired results. 8. Coaches believe that the client is responsible for doing the work to achieve the results/well-being. 9. Coaches maintain a holistic perspective and continually look at how all life areas interrelate. 10. The power of coaching comes from the strength of the caring bond between coach and client. 11. Coaches focus on the present moment during coaching meetings. 12. Coaches model the SUN philosophy, values and practices. 13. Coaches unconditionally accept clients as they are. 14. Every interaction with a client/prospective client is an opportunity to serve. 15. Coaches pro-actively continue their own personal growth and discovery. 16. Coaches remember to plurk (play while they work. How does SUN address learning the competencies of coaching? Basic versus Advanced Competency Training MethodsBasic: Talk about how to approach a client situation Basic: Role-play one competency Basic: Give student a case study to read in advance. Then discuss. Basic: Role-play multiple competencies after discussing approach beforehand. ______________________________________________________________ Advanced: Role-play multiple competencies without discussing anything beforehand. Advanced: Ask student to tape a meeting with a client, then listen to the tape together and ask student to self-assess first. Advanced: Ask student to apply the competency to other situations, other life areas, other types of clients. How does SUN address integrating coaching competencies into your work (existing or new coaching business)? Students discuss what they expect to do in a coaching or marketing meeting with their Coach Trainer beforehand and then after the coaching meeting discuss what happened. Self-mastery? A Personal Project, often spiritual in nature, offers the coach in training the opportunity to masterfully work through an obstacle that limits extraordinary performance. Format, location, Class size and facilitation Primarily 1:1 with your Coach Trainer in person or on the phone and 4-12 participants in monthly skills practices; Other SUN Coach Trainers might facilitate monthly tele-learning classes with 8-16 participants, and at annual education events with 20-30 participants. The annual education events have been around the US and will expand into locations in Europe in 2005. All SUN Coach Trainers are M.C.C.'s and in addition to training, must have an active coaching business. How long will it take to complete the required courses to obtain SUN’s certification designation? Minimum 11 months, maximum 3 years depending upon student's choices, lifestyle, game plan, and intentions. Tuition for the SUN program and payment methods or terms. $10,000. for the entire program payable up to three years, installments designed by student. What makes SUN unique or particularly attractive to a specific type of prospective student? We teach coaches to guide clients to learn how to produce results, not just to produce results and 1. The SUN certification teaches coaches how to offer a specific coaching program as well as learning skills and competencies needed to manage the coaching process. Coaches may also receive full support in setting up their business: e.g., business plan, marketing strategy and techniques, office organization, etc. 2. SUN prefers to train coaches who acknowledge they are on a spiritual journey and are willing to integrate their spirituality into their coaching. 3. The program we offer to clients teaches a structure as well as a coaching process. The structure involves three British techniques: The Results Game, The Well-being Game, and The Guidelines for Winning—the client always provides the content/results. 4. SUN has been primarily a one-to-one, in person, tailored certification program fit to the specific needs of the applicant. There are monthly tele-learning classes, small group skills practices and 4-5 days education events with 20-30 coaches and trainers as additional opportunities to interact with others. 5. We require that clients and coach applicants begin coaching by learning their Life Purpose. 6. A Personal Project, often spiritual in nature, offers the coach in training the opportunity to masterfully work through an obstacle that limits extraordinary performance. 7. All SUN trainers must be M.C.C.s and also be coaches in order to keep the process alive, relevant, and applicable to current coaching student and client needs. Note: This individualized format works for people who have need for schedule and financial flexibility as they go through the program because all meetings are scheduled to meet your time demands and life balance and payments may be made up to three years. The SUN process and tools are applicable to any setting or focus including business coaching, life coaching, a private coaching business, internal coaching, partnership coaching, student coaching, executive coaching, etc. Free Intros offered – How to register? Most SUN Coach Trainers offer a free 1/2-2 hours experience and Q+A meeting. Select a Coach trainer from the website and e-mail or call. Graduate Support (if offered) No financial assistance, payments may be paid in installments up to 3 years. Post-graduate courses offered 1. Education events annually, skills practices monthly, tele-learning classes monthly open to all graduates. 2. History of SUN Success Unlimited Network has its roots in a British firm, Results Unlimited, and was brought to the US by Teri-E Belf (the first M.C.C.) in 1987. Timothy Gallwey’s Inner Game philosophy heavily influenced the approach. Our program is based upon management theory and sports coaching, not the behavioral sciences. ACTP accreditation Renewal received 2004 Pictures of where your in-person training takes place. Each Coach Trainer has his or her own location.
